History
The origins of the Cave Shepherd Credit Card date back to the early 1990s when it was introduced as a proprietary store card. Over three decades, it has grown an impressive cardholder base of more than 30,000 in Barbados. In 2016, the Cave Shepherd Visa Credit Card was launched, providing customers with hassle-free credit locally, abroad and online. The introduction of Payce Digital in 2021 represents the Group's ongoing commitment to innovation in the financial services sector.

Structure/Ownership
Cave Shepherd Card (Barbados) Inc. trading as Payce Digital is a wholly owned entity of Cave Shepherd Co. Ltd, providing credit card and digital payment solutions. The origins of the Cave Shepherd Credit Card date back to the early 1990s when it was introduced as a proprietary store card that has grown an impressive cardholder base of more than 30,000 in Barbados today. In 2016, the Cave Shepherd Visa Credit Card was launched, providing customers with hassle free credit locally, abroad and online enabling purchases at millions or merchants wherever VISA is accepted. The introduction of Payce Digital in 2021 represents the Group's ongoing commitment to innovation in the financial services sector.

Board of Directors
Roger M. Cave, CA, CFA
Chief Executive Officer
Roger Cave joined the Board of Cave Shepherd & Co. Limited in 1997 and was appointed Chief Executive Officer effective June 1st, 2023. He is the Founder and Chairman of Fortress Fund Managers Limited ("Fortress"), a subsidiary of Cave Shepherd & Co. Limited, Chairman of Cave Shepherd Card (Barbados) Inc. trading as Payce Digital and a Director of DGM Financial Group.
Mr. Cave also serves as a Director on the Boards of several subsidiaries, including Cave Shepherd Inc., Cave Shepherd (Cayman) Ltd., Cave Shepherd SRL, Cave Shepherd Captive Insurance Inc., Cave Shepherd Card (Holdings) Inc., Cave Shepherd (St. Lucia) Inc., MyStorage Inc. and Store All Inc., as well as associate companies SigniaGlobe Financial Group Inc. and G.C.S. Limited.
In addition, he currently serves as an Independent Director of the Barbados Private Sector Association and is a member of the Executive Committee of the CARICOM Private Sector Organisation. He is also a Director of the Fairfax Group of Companies.
Mr. Cave is a graduate of Bishop's University, Canada where he obtained a BBA. He is a CFA charter holder as well as a Chartered Accountant. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados (FCA).
Ian P. Gibson, FCA, CPA-CGA
Chief Executive Officer
Ian Gibson is the Chief Financial Officer ("CFO") of Cave Shepherd & Co. Limited. In this role, he is responsible for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the Company.
Mr. Gibson also serves as a Director on the Boards of several subsidiaries, including Cave Shepherd Inc., Cave Shepherd (Cayman) Ltd., Cave Shepherd SRL, Cave Shepherd Captive Insurance Inc., Cave Shepherd Card (Barbados) Inc., Cave Shepherd Card (Holdings) Inc., Cave Shepherd (St. Lucia) Inc., MyStorage Inc. and Store All Inc., as well as associate companies G.C.S. Limited and Bridgetown Cruise Terminal Inc.
He joined the Company in 1995 as Financial Controller, having previously been employed with a leading audit firm. Mr. Gibson is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados (FCA) – Practising Member and a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA-CGA).

Jonathan Sylvester
Jonathan is a technology executive and co-founder with more than 20 years of experience leading revenue growth, market expansion, and digital transformation initiatives across enterprise, multinational, and government sectors. As Co-Founder of a Caribbean-based nearshore technology company, he provides strategic leadership across corporate development, client acquisition, operational execution, and organizational scale, building a capital-efficient platform that connects regional technical talent with global demand.
With a foundation in Marketing (Honors) and an MSc in Internet Technologies from the UK, Jonathan combines commercial acumen with technical fluency, enabling him to operate effectively at both board and delivery levels. His career spans senior Business Development and Product Management roles across Jamaica, London, and Barbados, where he has consistently driven strategic partnerships, structured complex solutions, and delivered sustainable revenue performance.
Our Leadership Team
Alison Browne-Ellis
Alison Browne-Ellis has responsibility for the overall strategic leadership of Payce Digital including business planning and business development growth strategies as she actively leads a dynamic team. Alison brings over 24 years of experience in the financial services and payments industry where she performed several regional roles during her tenure at Barclays Bank and FirstCaribbean International Bank.
Alison holds an Executive Diploma from the Ivey Business School, Western University, and a Master of Business Administration with Distinction, from the University of Surrey. Alison is a current Council Member and past Vice President of the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Alison's stellar leadership over the last ten years has led Cave Shepherd & Co. Limited to achieve the status of the first "Non-Financial Institution" in the English-Speaking Latin American Caribbean to acquire a Visa Issuer Member Licence.
Keri T. Mapp
Keri Mapp has the responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Payce Digital business, including Strategic Planning and Execution, Project Management, Customer Service Experience, Credit Management, Marketing and Business Development.
Prior to this role, Keri spent 16 years in the financial services industry with responsibility for Barbados and Eastern Caribbean. She has a proven track record in leading change initiatives with expertise in implementation of innovative products and business development.
Keri holds a Bachelor of Science - Management and Marketing with Honors from the University of West Indies, Cave Hill Campus and a Master of Business Administration with Distinction from the University of Bradford.
Chetwyn Greenidge
Chetwyn Greenidge has the responsibility of the day-to-day management of Credit Department including liaising with customers to ensure the best and most feasible credit plan is in place to meet their needs. A seasoned Credit Professional, he has 34 years of extensive experience in Sales and Credit Management with primary responsibility for Delinquency Management.
Chetwyn holds an Associate Degree in Computer Studies from the Barbados Community College and Bachelor of Science in Management with Honors from The University of The West Indies.
Joycelyn Cumberbatch
Joycelyn Cumberbatch holds the responsibility of ensuring that the Team delivers the most extraordinary customer service experience to the Payce Digital Family. With 24 years of experience in customer service her role entails managing the customer service operations, evaluating and addressing customer feedback, developing and implementing strategies to improve customer satisfaction and staff training.
Joycelyn holds an Associate Degree in Business Studies from the Barbados Community College, a Diploma in Supervisor Management and an Advanced Certificate in Executive Development from the Barbados Institute of Management and Productivity.
Kaylene Henry
Kaylene Henry is a dedicated and experienced marketing professional with over 18 years of documented experience in marketing strategy, brand management, communications, project management, marketing research, business development and event management across a range of industries.
Kaylene has been instrumental in leading the market launch of the 2016 Cave Shepherd Visa Card, 2018 Cave Shepherd Card Mobile App and most recently the rebrand to Payce Digital in 2021.
Kaylene holds a Master of Business Administration in Marketing & Sales Management from Edinburgh Napier University and a Bachelor of Science in Management (Honors) focused on Marketing from the University of The West Indies.
Diana Daniel
Diana Daniel is actively responsible for assisting in the management of the Payce Digital Bridgetown branch, including implementing strategies, coordinating daily customer service operations and procedures, identifying hiring and training needs and supervising and motivating staff.
Diana brings over 20 years of experience as a professional in customer service. She holds Diplomas in Business Communications, Supervisory Management and Executive Development with the Barbados Institute of Management and Productivity as well as a certificate in Developing Managerial Effectiveness at the Sagicor Cave Hill School of Business and Management.
Gail Welch
Gail started her work life at Cave Shepherd & Co. Ltd., as the Executive Assistant to the Group Chief Executive Officer in 2007. She transitioned into her current role with Payce Digital in January 2019.
As Business Development Manager, Gail is currently responsible for managing Cave Shepherd Group partner relations with external stakeholders as well as holding the responsibility of special focus on the digital payment's strategy for Payce Digital.
Gail holds an Associate of Science Degree in Administrative Professional Office Management from the University of the West Indies and is a Member of the International Institute of Business Analysts.
Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives

Adoption of St. Philip Primary School
- Refurbishment support for play park items (e.g., swings, seesaw, monkey bar, painting) and support for furniture needs in the computer room.
- Reading Club initiative for junior students.
- Sports uniform sponsorship for athletes participating in NAPSAC.
- NAPSAC Water and Fruit Break sponsorship for St. Philip Primary athletes.

Secondary School Internship Program
- Payce Digital invited both Parkinson Memorial Secondary and St. George Secondary to participate in the "Pay It Forward" Internship Programme.
- Students were required to submit essays or videos on the required topic of "How Has Digital Advancements Enhanced Your Academic Pursuits?"
- Both schools selected two (2) 4th and 5th Form students to participate, which entailed a two (2) week internship during the Summer Holiday with exposure across all Payce Digital departments.
- Students received a stipend upon completion.

Annual Bright Minds Scholarship
- Open to Primary School Students entering Secondary School and Secondary School Students entering Tertiary Institutions.
- One student each gets a chance to be awarded $1,000 and $2,000 respectively.
- Students required to submit short essay or video on provided essay topic.
- Proof of academic performance also required with submission of essay.
Strategic Partnerships
Payce Digital continues to forge meaningful partnerships across Barbados, collaborating with local businesses, service providers, and community organisations to expand cardholder benefits and strengthen our presence in the market. Our strategic partnerships are designed to deliver tangible value to our customers while supporting economic growth in the communities we serve.
Strategic Financial Partnership
IDB Invest approved a loan for up to BBD $10 million to Cave Shepherd Card Inc. (Payce Digital) to expand access to credit card services in Barbados, focused on serving low- and middle-income individuals. This landmark deal represents the first IDB Invest partnership with a non-bank financial institution in Barbados, and the first in local currency and local law.
The operation aims to expand financial access for individuals facing financial challenges by providing affordable credit card options. With this support, Payce Digital will continue to offer streamlined access for credit card account approval and digital payment services, bridging the gap for underbanked consumers across Barbados.
In addition to the loan, IDB Invest will provide support to strengthen Payce Digital's operations, including the implementation of an enhanced Corporate Governance Action Plan (CGAP) to boost transparency, oversight, and decision-making practices supporting sustainable growth and industry best practices.

Our Payce Digital Mobile Pay QR code technology continues to expand across retail, food service, and professional service providers island-wide.
